This article is not about SCIENCE, or RELIGION. This is about a new approach to look at the things.

I will write about something that it preoccupied my mind for more than a decade. I am born as Christian and I was taught in the childhood the paths of Christianity with Faith in God and respect for religion, prayers, and the Creation of this World by God as exposed in Genesis in the Bible. But somehow I am not the guy who believes everything it is told. I’m mostly  the guy who challenge everything. So at the age of 12 I begun to not trust in what the church told me. This came after I read a book of scientific literature which the main theme and title is: “How life appeared : By Evolution or by Creation ?”. The book presented scientifically the facts of evolution and proofs, but in parallel it presented the miraculous complexity of this world which is so organized that IT CAN’T BE only a hazard, an EVOLUTION. It must be CREATION because things are so complex that they can’t just evolve in this perfect state. God just created this Universe with everything that exists, including us. The book presented equally every aspect of creation and evolution, religion and science.

Somehow, the scientific part impressed me so much that I was in doubt for a few years. I had a very strong faith in God and Christianity and it resulted a fight inside me. For a few years I believed that the world that we know is a process of EVOLUTION but with the participation of God. Then, by the age of 15-16 I completely removed from this ecuation the participation of God and accepted that the world is just a process of EVOLUTION. This came after studying everything I could about astronomy, astrophysics, physics, chemistry a few years in my spare time. I am the scientific guy which needs proofs and not only stories like in the Old Testament or New Testament. Stories with mythical things didn’t caught me very much. I like to understand and if somehow I don’t understand something I consider that I don’t know some important facts to be able to understand those things. For me, things must be clear as the crystal. So, I accepted the EVOLUTION as a fact about this Universe and everything it surrounds us, including us. At this age of 16, I rejected the CREATION and I believed that we are a product of Evolution like the science says.

Let me first tell you some generic lines about what science say about EVOLUTION :

You know about scientific truth facts and stuffs that sustain that Humans (meaning homo sapiens, us) appeared in a process called EVOLUTION which originated from a molecular complex organic primordial soup which after hundreds of millions of years or maybe 2-3 billions years generated the first unicellular organism – EUGLENA VIRIDIS. This unicellular organism has the capacity to take solar energy and use it for own needs. It has a certain autonomy, it is the form of life from which everything evolved. Following the line EVOLUTION we will have multi-cellular organisms which continuously evolved to FISHES, AMPHIBIANS, REPTILES, BIRDS, MAMMALS and finally HOMO SAPIENS SAPIENTIS. So, from the scientific point of view the things are unambiguous. The long and complex process of EVOLUTION  spread in a billions of years in time, gave finally existence to self-conscious and intelligent life form : HUMANS.

Secondly, but not the last is the world which sustain that we, humans are a process of CREATION by a superior ENTITY called GOD. In time, religions appeared and sustained this fact: We are the CREATION of God. In Christianity, the Genesis which is the first part of the Old Testament sustains that Universe, the Sun, the Earth, the Oceans, the land, the plants, the animals and the humans were created in 6 days by God. The seventh was the day of rest. The Church, the Christian religions clearly established : We are just a CREATION of God. For them, the things are so clear that it doesn’t need further investigation. They consider that as we investigate  more and more, we discover that the complexity of this world is above us. We will never arrive to an end. We are so small, so weak, so unhelpful. And to be honest with you, I think that they have right. This world is so complex that we will never discover everything, we will never know everything, we will never have the absolute power. We are just a creation of something much bigger and powerful : GOD. God, a superior intelligence with absolute power created us as we are now together with the Universe that surrounds us.

We are in doubt now ? What to believe ? What to not believe? We have scientific evidence and we have in the same time the religious beliefs. Someone has right. Or maybe both. Or maybe the truth is somewhere between them.

Evolution or creation ? Scientific facts or religious beliefs ? Absolute power or relativity ? God or Universe ? What ? What ?

As I already told you one of my preoccupation was to understand this. I was in both perspectives and every perspective has right. The religious men and the scientific ones. Both have right. Why ? This idea of explaining this concept came to me one day when I was going at work. The idea is very simple. There are just two parts of the same coin.

EVOLUTION DOES NOT ELIMINATES CREATION. CREATION DOES NOT ELIMINATES EVOLUTION. THIS IS THE SAME PROCESS. ONE SINGLE PROCESS.

You can call this process EVOLUTION or you can call it CREATION. It doesn’t matters. Why ? Why does not matters ? Let me explain you why.

Because Universe is in a continuous process of EVOLUTION and this process CREATES something. If you look just at a specific moments in time, at a difference of many years you see separate events. For example if you look back in time you see the first fish appeared 500 millions years ago. Mammals appeared 200 millions years ago. If you look at this distance in time, with a difference of 300 millions years it looks like a complete new specie. It is a creation. But this is just the result. We omitted 300 millions of continuous evolution which gave birth to mammals. So if I look just at specific moments, everything looks like a creation. If we take smaller and smaller intervals of time we see that between them there are also created amphibians, reptiles, modern insects and even dinosaurs at intervals of 50 millions of years. If we look more deeply and we take even smaller intervals of time we will see species of insects developing, species of reptiles and dinosaurs…an so on. What I want to proof you is that EVOLUTION is continuous. Even right now. Evolution exists. But if we take intervals of time we see things as CREATIONS. Complete new things. We can’t take every minute in history. We don’t have the resources to discover year by year the evolution process that took several billions of years. It’s impossible. Even to count to 1 million it will take you  approximately 10 days . To count to 1 billion it will take you over 25 years. Just to count.  It’s enormous, a huge number. There are missing links and we will never discover them all. Even for the human being. We will never know everything that it passed in history. We will know only pieces, evidences and proofs separated in time. If you look like this the historical process becomes a creation.

Evolution is the same aspect of creation. Creation is just the word for MOMENT. At this moment something appeared, at this moment something was created. The evolution is a LINE. The CREATION is a POINT, a moment.

So, when the religions say that this world is a result of a CREATION, they have right. They look just to the results. They do not investigate. They do not take smaller and smaller pieces to see from where it comes everything. They just ACCEPT things as they see them in this moment. Animals exists, plants exists, planets and suns exists, humans exists. This is now. These things were created in the past. It doesn’t matters when. They exist for us now. We see them now. This is a philosophical approach to see life, faith and GOD. We live the moment, we are a beautiful creation. We must respect that. Universe (or God) gave us everything we need. It doesn’t matters how or when or why. Live our lives in happiness. This is what religions want to say. Do not investigate because you will never find everything and understand the whole picture. It’s not in our power. We are too small. We can understand only pieces. We will always have missing links or facts. This is why they say : “Believe and do not research”. This is not bad. This is something to protect you. To protect you from unhappiness. Because when you ask yourself to many philosophical and scientific questions you loose in them, life passes before you know it…and…for what ? You will never know all the history and all the Universe.

Science, want to know everything. And there are so many people which brings us more and more scientific results and facts. Yes, they have right. We are a process of evolution. We are in a process of continuous evolution. But we are in the same time a CREATION. This is the CREATION of the power of the Universe (God) but in TIME. Evolution happens in time and to have the complete picture we must investigate, history, archaeology, and so on. And we put facts and we link them with other facts and we gain a complete picture of everything. The picture of evolution. But this picture is not perfect. It will never be.

CREATION IS JUST A MOMENT IN THE PROCESS OF EVOLUTION. It depends how you look. If you look in the present you will see that everything is a CREATION. If you look in the past you will see that EVOLUTION IS A PROCESS, process which gives us MOMENTS OF CREATION.

EVOLUTION AND CREATION ARE THE SAME THING, like the two sides of a coin.

And consider that life and Universe is in a continuous EVOLUTION but we can’t see it all. And we will never see it. We are too limited and powerless. This is why we say that EVERYTHING IS A CREATION OF GOD but in time in a process called EVOLUTION.

So, as a CONCLUSION : WHAT SCIENCE CALLS IT EVOLUTION, RELIGION CALLS IT CREATION. BUT THE PROCESS IS THE SAME BUT VIEWED FROM DIFFERENT ANGLES, DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES.

In the past years I have studied the complex phenomenon of the perception of the reality, the first subject being myself.

Have you observed how your mood makes you see the world different ?
Thoughts and feelings modify your current perception of things, your own reality changes accordingly.

If you have a good feeling and positive thoughts about something, everything you’ll perceive will be nice, the world will look better in your eyes. If a fatal event happens to you it will give some negative reactions, negative thoughts and bad feelings. This event will make you suffer, feeling very badly inside you, and…in consequence, the perceived reality will change and you’ll tend to see everything in bad colors, in bad perspective. The world and everything will look bad into your eyes. This is because the perceived reality it is not the actual reality. Your perceived reality it’s only your own reality, different and sometimes very very different than the actual reality.

Everything we see, we perceive, everything we judge, we feel are just perspectives, views, moments which are relative to you, to you being. You are very influenced by what is happening to you and you can’t escape from your limited perspective. You are just a human being amongst other billions with limited perception of things.

So…everything is happening to you is not final. Because you are very subjective, because your view, your feelings, your knowledge is relative to your inner world it can be changed. It is just a temporary perception of things, and things can always change if you look different to them. We see this world NOT HOW THE WORLD REALLY IS, we see the world as we thought and feel it is.

In consequence, nothing is final, everything can be changed, everything is a process which continues to flow, until the end of your life. Maybe you know the famous words : “This is not like it seems”. In fact, nothing is what it seems. So, if it not what it seems, we can make it to be what we want. We are the power, the power lies into us.

Happiness is not final, sadness is not final, unhappiness is not final, everything changes. We live in a Universe where everything changes permanently, over and over again. We are living in a river which flows and has cascades with big falls and where we fall and we can’t control what is happening to us. The river is very powerful and we depend completely on it. It can also kill us if we are not aware. But the river also has slight  movements when it arrives to a straight surface, like a plain. There we can action, we have the possibility to make our own choices and control in a large amount how we navigate. This is how life it is. And you must also be aware of what choices you do in these moments. You are floating peacefully in the river, without being disturbed, you know that you can turn left or right and even stop and explore the near land. This was an simpler image of life to show you some aspects that you may not consider them.

Life is a process, it’s happening right now, into you, near you, everywhere. It is not final, everything happens now, you must feel the moment in everything you do, everything you accomplish. Life is not good or bad. Life is just how it is. If you feel bad is not your fault, if things look bad and things go bad…it’s not your fault. Your fault is when you do nothing to stop bad things happening into your life. Attitude differentiate smart people from stupid people. Attitude differentiate rich people from the poor ones. And attitude differentiate happy people from unhappy people.

Things can always change so be the one who has the capacity to make them better.
